New hosted Drupal option
According to this article, Acquia is planning to offer a hosted Drupal service in the next few months. Drupal has always been my favorite CMS for things like intranet sites, mostly due to its strong taxonomy feature. It's much easier to find content after it's been posted if the articles can be tagged with multiple topics. Unlike something like Sharepoint, where it goes under some inflexible folder structure, never to be seen again...
Open Atrium
As I was searching around the Internet the other day for news about one of my favorite CMS packages (Drupal), I found this interesting project called Open Atrium, from a company called Development Seed.
It looks like they've put a tremendous amount of effort into making an out-of-the-box Intranet solution, based on the Drupal CMS. I will certainly be installing this, and post back with my thoughts on how it all works.
